SLIDESHOW OF SOME OF MY FAVORITE PHOTOS
BLACK THROATED BLUE WARBLER
MY PHOTO GALLERIES
I would like to start by thanking you all for all the kind comments about my photos I appreciate all the comments posted to my site and the emails I have received.
Latest news, as of today 3/27/16 I have now posted photo # 17,000, it is hard to believe that I have reached this amount and hope I can add to that total in the future.
Two years ago I decided to try and create a wildlife habitat in my back yard and knowing how much birds depend on water that was going to be my starting point. Last year (2013) I built a pond and then surrounded it with flowers, plants and driftwood to help to attract the birds and give them a place to drink and bath and all I can say is wow to the number of birds I saw. I heated the pond all winter to give the birds what they needed and as we all know this past winter was extremely cold and the birds came to my pond in numbers I could only dream of. After seeing what happened this past year this spring (2014) I decided to redo the pond and try to make it even better for the birds and so far I feel I have done what I set out to do because the birds love the new pond. If you have any interest in watching birds get yourself a good water feature and you will not regret it.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my web site and view my photos, there are now close to 15,000 photos posted here, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of viewing them as I have in the taking of them. Since I have had no formal training in photography I am sure you will find a lot of flaws in my photos, but I do feel I have made a big improvement over the last 6 years in the quality of my photos. I have met many people on line through my web site and other photo web sites and have learned a lot from the people I have met, and I would like to take a moment to thank all the people that have helped me with their comments and critiques of my photos. When I first started taking wildlife photos my main interest was big game, deer, bear, turkeys etc. While spending the time waiting for a chance to take these photos I started to take more photos of birds and I have come to really enjoy avian photography. The work that it takes to get the detail in the feathers of a bird can be real demanding, but in the long run it has made me a better photographer. While I will never pass up the opportunity to photograph big game I can now be content to go out and just photograph birds and have spent countless hours doing so. I am currently using Canon cameras and a combination of Canon and Sigma lenses with a Bogen tripod with a Wimberly head. My equipment is not the top of the line but is good equipment capable of taking good photos, while better equipment would be nice I am using what I can afford at this time. If you enjoyed viewing my photos I would love to hear your comments and if there are things you do not like I would like to hear that also. If you know of any unusual animals or birds in central Pa. or have wildlife in your backyard that can be photographed, I would love to hear from you. I can't get to all these sightings but I will try my best to get to as many of them as possible. My motto the last couple of years is if it is outside it is fair game to be photographed, trees, flowers, bugs, birds, animals and almost anything else. If you have any interest in any of my photos, please email me to discuss terms.
SPECIAL THANK YOU--This is for all the people who have allowed me to take photographs on their property, without them most of these photos would not be possible.
